The Arts Alliance of Woodbury has named Dr. Keffie Feldman, chief curator of the Mattatuck Museum, juror of its fourth Members’ Invitational Exhibition, set for August 4 to 30 in the gallery at the Woodbury Public Library.
An opening reception and presentation of awards is planned for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, in the gallery. The exhibition will be open for public viewing during regular library hours.
Registrations are currently being accepted.
With a wide-ranging background in art and history, Dr. Keffie Feldman holds a Ph.D. from the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University and a B.A. in archaeology and art history from Tufts University. Whether considering art of the ancient past or the contemporary present, she is interested in art’s power as a means of personal and cultural expression.
The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Summertime.” AAW invites current and new members to submit an original artwork in any medium that evokes and celebrates this special time of year. Registration will be accepted on a first come, first served basis through July 15 or until available space is full.
Awards in the amount of $250 each will be presented in the categories of Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Works on Paper.
Non-members who wish to exhibit are invited to join the Arts Alliance of Woodbury, a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting and promoting the arts in Woodbury and surrounding towns.
