The Arts Alliance of Woodbury will host its first Meet and Greet of the season from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, at Studio Hill Gallery, 507 Main St. South.
Prior to the pandemic, the Arts Alliance hosted quarterly Meet and Greets at various venues, bringing together artists of all media, musicians and other performers, and area residents who appreciate the arts in any form. The spring event marks a return to the convivial gatherings on a regular basis.
The evening will include complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres, followed by presentations by gallery co-owner Nadine Cascini, charcoal portrait artist ShawnaLee Kwashnak and special guest Doug Donato, Waterbury Symphony Orchestra’s new Executive Director, who is known to play a mean harmonica.
Founded in 2020, the award-winning Studio Hill Gallery features works by local, regional, national and international artists, from emerging to mid-career and well-established. The gallery, which includes a design shop with handmade artisan gifts and a book nook, is a regular stop on AAW’s Summer Arts Walks, where spoken word is offered on the secluded patio.
Those attending the Meet and Greet will have the opportunity to view Studio Hill’s Winter Group Art Show, featuring 20 local and regional artists.
The March 8 Meet and Greet is free to AAW members. Non-members are welcome for a modest guest fee which can be applied towards membership that evening. Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP to Nadine Cascini, email@example.com or 203-405-6500.
The nonprofit Arts Alliance of Woodbury promotes innovation, creativity, participation in and support of the arts. Subsequent events include Meet and Greets on the second Wednesday of June (annual gala), September and December; Arts Walks on the third Saturday of May, June, July and August, and a December Members Exhibition.
