I am a clarinetist, author, and public speaker.

I began my musical life in 5th grade with clarinet.

I was president of the symphonic band and marching band during my college years at Princeton University, and was a member of the Doctor’s Symphony in New York City during medical school. In my ophthalmology residency and fellowship, I studied with the principal clarinetists of the Florida Philharmonic and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (SFSO).

I co-founded the classical music concert at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and also organized and performed at the Connecticut Mozart Festival.

I serve as president of the Woodbury-based Connecticut Summer Opera Foundation (CSOF), which has produced and supported professional opera performances in Woodbury, Southbury and Middlebury since its founding in 2012.

I am the cultural ambassador of the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra (WSO) where I am a program annotator and give pre-concert talks and composer lecture-recitals.

I am an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at Yale University School of Medicine, and a visiting scholar in bioethics and medical humanities at Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine where I work with medical students on observational skills in art and listening skills in music.
