About the Event
The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Summertime.” AAW's current and new members submitted original artwork in any medium that evoke and celebrate this special time of year. The exhibition will be open for public viewing during regular library hours.
An opening reception and presentation of awards is planned for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, in the gallery.
Awards in the amount of $250 each will be presented in the categories of Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Works on Paper.
Dr. Keffie Feldman, chief curator of the Mattatuck Museum, has been named juror of the fourth Members’ Invitational Exhibition, set for August 4 to 30 in the gallery at the Woodbury Public Library.
With a wide-ranging background in art and history, Dr. Keffie Feldman holds a Ph.D. from the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World at Brown University and a B.A. in archaeology and art history from Tufts University. Whether considering art of the ancient past or the contemporary present, she is interested in art’s power as a means of personal and cultural expression.
